After a summer of sunshine, swimming and styling, many of our clients ask whether a salon treatment can really repair their hair. The honest answer is that a good treatment can make a big difference, as long as you know what to expect.
Here our stylists in Evesham and Pershore explain what a salon treatment can and cannot do.
1. Types of Summer Damage
-
Dryness – hair has lost moisture and feels rough.
-
Weakness – the internal structure is weakened, so hair stretches or snaps.
-
Colour fade – tones look dull or brassy.
-
Split ends – the ends of the hair have physically split.
2. What a Salon Treatment Does
A professional treatment works deeper than most at-home products. It helps to replenish moisture, strengthen the hair from within and smooth the cuticle, so hair feels softer, looks shinier and is easier to manage.
What a treatment cannot do is glue split ends back together. Those need a trim, which is why we often recommend a treatment and a tidy-up cut together.
3. Joico in the Salon, K18 at Home
This October we are using Joico treatments in both salons to repair and restore summer-stressed hair. To keep the results going between visits, we recommend K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask at home, used after shampooing and before conditioning.
4. How Often Should You Book?
For hair that is very dry or damaged, we suggest a treatment at each of your next few appointments, then every four to six weeks to maintain condition. Your stylist will tailor this to your hair.
5. £12 Treatment and a Free Consultation
Add a Joico treatment to any appointment this October for just £12. If you are not sure what your hair needs, book a free consultation at either salon and we will recommend the right plan for you.
